It can be HARD to make friends as an adult. Raise your hand if you agree 🙋‍♀️

The good news is that Murrells Inlet is full of great people who, in my experience, are really friendly. As someone who’s lived here for 9 years (and the surrounding area for almost 25 years) and helps clients move to Murrells Inlet, here are some tips:

01. Find activities you enjoy doing and do them regularly:

Pickleball — Surfside United Methodist Church & South Strand Rec Center
Beach Yoga — Yoga with Hope Bray meets on the beach in Garden City Beach
Book Club — Katie’s Book Club meets at Brown Fox Coffee Box – follow her at www.instagram.com/katiereads.sc
Running — Black Dog Running Company or Fleet Feet Pawleys Island or Myrtle Beach

02. Pick an organization doing work you care about and get involved. Some of my favorites:

Brookgreen Gardens
Habitat for Humanity Georgetown
All 4 Paws Animal Rescue

03. If you’re a parent, consider community when choosing schools and sports. This is such an easy way to find likeminded friends in a similar season of life. These can be pretty personal, so comment and I’d be happy to play match maker. Same thing with church — I’m happy to connect you.

Surfside Beach Library — Surfside Beach
All Children’s Park — Surfside Beach

04. If you’re a pet parent, bring your pup to Southern Hops Brewery because it’s very pet friendly! Many restaurants along the Marshwalk are also pet friendly. There’s also a Dog’s Way Inn and Surfside Beach dog parks.
