My buyers wanted to move closer to family. They had lived their whole life in West Virginia, but their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren moved several years ago to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was time for the grandparents, my buyers, to follow them by relocating from West Virginia to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Situation
Not only were they relocating from West Virginia to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but they wanted to purchase a home with cash so they did not have to take out a mortgage. Fortunately, they had money saved so they could purchase a home in Myrtle Beach without having to sell their West Virginia home first. We did have a budget though…funds were not unlimited!
The Priorities
Their priorities were to find a home within their budget that would fit their needs as they aged. Criteria like single level living, wider spaces in case walkers or wheelchairs were needed in the future and low maintenance became important. They also wanted to be close to family so their daughter and son-in-law would be close by to help if needed.
That’s Where I Came In
My involvement started with a text from their daughter. She was also a past client who has become a friend. She asked if I could help her parents find a home. Then I spoke to the parents by phone to discuss their needs.
Their search started in 2025, but, as sometimes happens, life got in the way. That’s okay though! We knew we would find the right house when the time was right.
The Outcome
We found the right house in the same neighborhood where their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren live!!
The grandchildren can ride their bikes to their grandparents’ home.
Lemonade stands and weekend sleepovers are being planned!

Helping my buyers relocating from West Virginia to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was a wonderful experience and now they have a house in South Carolina to call home.
